Nutrition vs. Exercise
I cannot tell you the number of times that I have been approached about the shape I am in. The most common comment is; “you must spend hours in the gym each day”. My response is always; I train about an hour a day, the real work is in the kitchen! The feedback I receive about that comment is always the same. Most people know what they eat is important, yet it is the reason they can’t get in shape. It comes down to how difficult it is to eat healthy, and the consistent discipline of it. It needs to be a lifestyle change.
The Importance of Good Nutrition
As mentioned in our blogs Our Bodies Are Fantastic and Build Muscle And Lose Fat, what we put into our bodies matters! Good nutrition means eating purposefully, not indiscriminately. Knowing your body composition. Not guessing or not caring to know. Success depends as much or more on how and what you eat as it does on exercise.
The real work is in the kitchen isn’t about implementing another diet you can’t live with. It’s about paying attention to what you’re eating, how the foods you eat make you feel, and will what you’re eating get you to your health and fitness goals. James Clear states in his book Atomic Habits, “that we tend to not rise to the level of our goals, we fall to the level of our systems.”
“The real work is in the kitchen” is about implementing a system that creates achievable habits to get you to the goal you desire. “The real work is in the kitchen” is the reality of living the Fitness Revelation lifestyle.
